This bill establishes the Religious Freedom Commission within the Office of the Governor of Texas. The commission will have seven members appointed by the Governor, who must be residents of Texas and have demonstrated expertise or leadership in religious liberty issues. The commission is tasked with advancing the right to freedom of religion, identifying challenges and solutions related to religious liberty, advising the Governor on religious freedom matters, making policy recommendations, and engaging in education and outreach efforts. The Office of the Governor will provide administrative support and funding for the commission.
