This bill amends the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to expand the qualifications of expert witnesses in certain health care liability claims. Specifically, it allows chiropractors or physicians to provide expert testimony on the causal relationship between the alleged departure from accepted standards of care and the injury, harm, or damages claimed against a chiropractor. The changes in the law apply only to actions commenced on or after the effective date of the bill, which is September 1, 2023.
