This bill establishes the Massachusetts Judicial Security Act, which aims to protect the personal information of justices, judges, and their immediate family members. The key provisions are: 1. State, county, and municipal agencies are prohibited from publicly posting or displaying the personal information (such as social security numbers, home addresses, and phone numbers) of protected individuals without their written permission. Protected individuals can file a written notice with these agencies to have their personal information marked as confidential. 2. Data brokers are prohibited from selling, licensing, or providing access to a protected individual's personal information. Individuals, businesses, and associations are also prohibited from publicly posting or displaying a protected individual's personal information online if the individual has made a written request not to disclose it. Entities must remove such information within 72 hours of receiving a written request. 3. An at-risk individual whose personal information is made public in violation of this Act can seek injunctive or declaratory relief, and the responsible party may be required to pay the individual's costs and legal fees. The Act will take effect 120 days after being enacted.
