This bill establishes a student loan repayment program for human services workers in Massachusetts. The program aims to encourage individuals to enter and maintain employment in the human services field by providing financial assistance to help defray the costs of previously incurred student loans. To be eligible, participants must work a minimum of 35 hours per week as a human services worker and have maintained 12 consecutive months of employment. Priority for funding will be given to applicants with lower incomes, who are bilingual, live or work in vaccine equity initiative communities, or have at least three years of direct care experience. Eligible applicants can receive up to $6,000 for an associate degree, $20,000 for a bachelor's degree, or $30,000 for a master's degree.
