This bill aims to improve protections for sexual assault survivors in Massachusetts. It amends the state's harassment law to include additional offenses under the state's criminal code as grounds for filing a harassment complaint. The bill also allows courts to order the suspension and surrender of firearms and firearms licenses upon issuing a temporary or emergency harassment prevention order if the plaintiff demonstrates a substantial likelihood of immediate danger of abuse. Additionally, the bill enables courts to order possession, care, and control of domesticated animals owned by parties involved in certain protective orders, and requires law enforcement to act on outstanding warrants for violations of such orders if the court finds an imminent threat of bodily injury to a person or animal.
