This bill mandates access to cancer screenings for firefighters through health care benefits plans or programs provided by the public employer. The key provisions are: 1) Firefighters shall be provided a cancer screening examination by a physician every three years during the course of their employment, covering various types of cancer; 2) All costs associated with these screenings shall be borne by the firefighter's health care benefits plan or program provided by the employer; and 3) No out-of-pocket expenses shall be required for these examinations.
