This bill requires the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to annually collect and report on demographic information of applicants for initial licensure and renewal of licensure for professions that provide mental health and substance use disorder treatment, including social workers, allied mental health and human services professionals, and psychologists. The report will include data on race, ethnicity, language, gender identity, location of practice, educational background, prior experience, licensure history, application decisions, and reasons for denials. The department must report the aggregate findings to the joint committee on mental health, substance use and recovery, and make the findings publicly accessible in a searchable, sortable format by October 31, 2023 and annually thereafter.
