This bill aims to ensure access to full spectrum pregnancy care. It amends various chapters of Massachusetts law to prohibit deductibles, coinsurance, copayments, or other cost-sharing requirements for certain pregnancy-related health services, with an exception if the applicable health plan would lose its tax-exempt status as a result. The bill also requires state agencies and officials to ensure plan compliance with these provisions. The changes made by this bill will apply to all relevant health insurance policies and contracts delivered, issued, or renewed 6 months from the effective date of the act.
