This bill authorizes and directs the Massachusetts Pesticide Board, in consultation with the State Reclamation and Mosquito Control Board, to provide alternative means for private property owners to designate their property for exclusion from wide-area and mosquito control pesticide applications. The alternatives include allowing municipalities to include an "opt-out" provision on their annual census forms and allowing residents to submit a hand-delivered letter to the municipal clerk with the necessary information. These changes to the existing regulations must be implemented at least 90 days before the start of the 2023 pesticide spraying season.
