This bill seeks to establish a Special Commission to study the current status, structures, future vision, and needs of public education in Massachusetts. The Commission, consisting of 11 members from various education stakeholder groups, will conduct an ongoing study on key aspects of 21st-century education, including the educator pipeline, diversity, reputation, curriculum, learning models, assessment methods, accountability structures, and the overall education continuum from pre-K through college. The Commission will develop a comprehensive report to re-envision the power and potential of the Massachusetts education system for all students.
