This bill promotes conservation through oyster shell recycling by providing tax credits to individual taxpayers and corporations who donate oyster shells to oyster shell recycling organizations. For individual taxpayers, the credit is $5 per full 5-gallon bucket of oyster shells donated, and any unused credit can be carried forward for up to 3 years. Corporations are also eligible for a $5 per 5-gallon bucket credit against their excise tax, with unused credits also eligible for 3-year carryforward.
