This bill amends Chapter 176O of the General Laws to require insurers to include any cost-sharing amounts paid by the enrollee or on their behalf by another person when calculating the enrollee's contribution to any applicable cost-sharing requirement, such as deductibles, copayments, or coinsurance. It also requires insurers to include expenditures for any covered health care service that falls within a category of essential health benefits when calculating the enrollee's contribution to the annual limitation on cost-sharing. The bill applies to health plans entered into, amended, extended, or renewed on or after January 1, 2024, and the Commission may promulgate necessary rules and regulations to implement the section.
