This bill amends Chapter 90 of the General Laws to add a new section regulating the operation of "drones" (unmanned aircraft operated remotely) in the Commonwealth. The key provisions include: (1) prohibiting the operation of drones more than 400 feet above ground level, weighing more than 10 pounds, without visual line of sight, within 5 miles of an airport or other restricted airspace, in a reckless manner creating a risk of harm, or with the intent to harass or annoy individuals; and (2) defining "restricted space" as airspace within 5 miles of an airport or as designated by law.
