This bill amends Section 15 of Chapter 32 of the General Laws, which relates to retirement reporting. The key provision is that the Attorney General or a District Attorney must immediately notify the state Retirement Commission if they become aware of a final conviction of a member of a retirement system that may require forfeiture of the member's pension or retirement allowance, or a return of the member's accumulated deductions. However, the Commission shall not report the conviction to the member's retirement board or employer unless the Commission has determined that the conviction requires such forfeiture or return, and is directing the member's retirement board or employer to take action to effectuate the forfeiture.
