This bill aims to ensure equal access to essential medical treatments for individuals aged 21 and older who have been diagnosed with a developmental disability, intellectual disability, or autism spectrum disorder. It requires the state's Medicaid division to cover the cost of habilitative and rehabilitative medically necessary treatments, including applied behavior analysis provided or supervised by a licensed behavior analyst, as well as augmentative and alternative communication devices such as medically necessary tablets. The goal is to help develop, maintain, or restore the functioning of these individuals to the maximum extent possible.
