This bill aims to improve water access equity by requiring public and private water utilities to file quarterly reports with the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. The reports will include detailed information about customer service data, such as the number of customers, disconnection notices, water shut-offs, customer assistance programs, and communication methods, all disaggregated by zip code. The Executive Office will then report annually on the results of these equity audits to the Senate and House committees. The bill is set to take effect on January 1, 2024.
