This bill requires various health insurance plans in Massachusetts, including those offered by the Group Insurance Commission, individual and group accident and sickness insurance policies, hospital service plans, medical service agreements, and health maintenance contracts, to provide benefits on a nondiscriminatory basis for medically necessary "behavioral health bundled services" delivered through "community behavioral health centers." These centers are licensed clinics regulated by the state and provide evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, care coordination, management, or peer support services for patients with mental health, developmental, or substance use disorders, with services reimbursed through a flat rate per encounter.
