This bill allows dentists and patients to enter into direct dental care agreements, which are agreements for the delivery of direct dental care services (such as screening, assessment, and diagnosis) based on a periodic fee rather than a fee-for-service arrangement financed through dental insurance. The bill specifies the required and optional provisions of these agreements, and exempts dentists who enter into such agreements from being considered insurance companies or being subject to oversight by the Division of Insurance.
