This bill aims to prevent discrimination against individuals with disabilities in the provision of healthcare. It amends the state's anti-discrimination law, Chapter 151B, to replace the term "handicap" with "disability" and adds a new section prohibiting healthcare entities from denying or deprioritizing lifesaving treatment based on presumptions about a person's quality of life or worth due to a disability or chronic health condition. The bill also prohibits healthcare providers from conditioning treatment on a patient having a "do not resuscitate" order or other advance directive, and requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services to promulgate regulations to implement these new anti-discrimination provisions within 60 days.
