This bill aims to increase the safety and security of unattended ballot boxes by requiring election officers in cities and towns to provide 24-hour video surveillance of each unattended ballot drop box within their jurisdiction. The cameras used for the surveillance must record footage, which can be stored in a cloud or physical location, and must be retained for a minimum of 22 months after each election. Additionally, a sign must be posted on or near each drop box indicating that it is under constant surveillance.
