This bill establishes a Manicurist Industry Minimum Standards Advisory Board to study and make recommendations on industry-wide minimum standards for wages, benefits, working hours, training, and working conditions in nail salons, also known as "manicurist salons." The board will consist of 15 members, including representatives from the state government, experts in occupational safety, economic development, and the manicurist industry, as well as licensed manicurists. The board will monitor, research, and report on issues related to fair living wages, gratuities, benefits, training, and workplace safety in the manicurist industry, and provide initial recommendations to the state legislature and relevant agencies within 18 months of the bill's effective date.
