This bill aims to extend enhanced Medicaid benefits to eligible hospitals in Massachusetts. It directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to make monthly supplemental Medicaid payments to eligible hospitals, which are defined as non-profit or municipal acute care hospitals that have a statewide relative price less than 0.90, a public payer mix equal to or greater than 60%, and are not owned, financially consolidated, or corporately affiliated with a provider organization that owns or controls multiple acute care hospitals with total net assets greater than $600 million. The total sum of these enhanced Medicaid payments shall not exceed $35 million per fiscal year, and the Secretary may require reasonable conditions to ensure federal financial participation and may promulgate regulations to carry out this legislation.
