This bill establishes a 2-year pilot program for specialty pharmacy in urology. The Department of Public Health and the Board of Pharmacy will jointly develop the program, which will allow urology providers in private practice to operate specialty practice pharmacies. The program aims to expand patient access to medications for urological conditions, particularly for underserved populations. The Department and the Board will determine the criteria for participation, including a requirement that participating practices accept MassHealth patients. After the initial 2-year period, the Department and the Board will evaluate the results of the pilot program and determine whether to renew it for an additional 2 years.
