Specifically, the bill adds the definition of "attending nurse practitioner" to the relevant statute, and then updates various sections to allow nurse practitioners to perform the same roles as physicians in determining capacity and invoking the health care proxy. This expansion of authority to nurse practitioners is intended to provide more flexibility and options for patients in managing their health care decisions.
