This bill aims to provide additional safeguards for home healthcare workers. It requires home healthcare employers to provide annual comprehensive workplace safety training, conduct safety assessments of home settings before providing services, and equip workers with communication devices and alarms. The bill also allows workers to refuse services if they believe an imminent danger exists, without facing disciplinary action. Additionally, the bill requires home healthcare employers to designate a crisis response team to support workers who are victims of workplace violence. The bill also provides home healthcare workers who are victims of assault or assault and battery in the line of duty with up to 7 days of paid leave to seek services or legal assistance, and prevents employers from retaliating against them. The bill also allows these workers to have their employer's or labor union's address used for legal documents related to the incident.
