This bill aims to establish penalties for threatening an employee of the Department of Children and Families (DCF). The bill proposes that a person who knowingly threatens a DCF employee and places them in a reasonable belief of death or serious bodily injury could be imprisoned for up to two years or fined up to $1,000, or both. Additionally, if the threat is made with the intent to prevent the reporting of suspected child abuse or neglect to DCF, the penalty could also include up to two years of imprisonment or a $1,000 fine, or both.
