This bill extends the validity of firearms licenses that expire during a state of emergency, such as a pandemic, when police departments are not processing renewal applications. The licenses would remain valid until the renewal can be fully processed or denied by the police department. However, the bill does not prevent the Chief of Police from revoking a license if circumstances warrant, as already allowed under Massachusetts General Laws.
