This bill amends Section 17C of Chapter 90 of the Massachusetts General Laws to expand the locations where a 25-mile-per-hour speed limit can be established. Specifically, it allows the 25-mile-per-hour speed limit to be applied to roadways where a higher speed limit was previously set under Section 18, in addition to the current application inside thickly settled or business districts. This change provides more flexibility for state and local authorities to set lower speed limits in certain areas for safety purposes.
