This bill aims to require the electrification of new and substantially remodeled or rehabilitated buildings in Massachusetts. The key provisions include: 1. Allowing the Department to grant waivers from the requirements in certain circumstances where compliance would be impractical or impose extraordinary challenges. 7. Authorizing municipalities to impose reasonable penalties for violations of the law. The bill is set to take effect on January 1, 2025.
