This bill aims to ensure the availability of prescription medications during a state of emergency declared by the governor. It requires the Department of Public Health, in consultation with various agencies and stakeholders, to develop and publicize a statewide plan that would: (1) allow for early refills of prescriptions; (2) ensure that vehicles delivering medications have the same road access as other emergency vehicles; (3) coordinate among pharmaceutical industry players; (4) avoid duplicative supply chain infrastructure; and (5) create a safety net system to assist people in locating prescription medications. If a state of emergency is declared, the Commissioner shall implement the statewide plan for the duration of the emergency.
