This bill allows the registrar of the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles to issue confidential registration plates upon approval of an application by active or retired judges of the state's supreme judicial court, appeals court, or trial court. If the application is denied, the registrar must provide the applicant with a letter explaining the reasons for the denial, instructions on how to appeal the decision, and an explanation of the appeals process.
