This bill creates a program within the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), in consultation with the Environmental Facilities Corporation, to assist municipalities with improving the water quality of water bodies managed by lake associations within those municipalities. The program will identify water quality concerns, determine the best remediation methods, and assist municipalities with implementing best practices to improve and maintain water quality. The bill also establishes a grant program to help municipalities fund these water quality improvement efforts.
