This bill establishes a special commission to investigate and develop recommendations for improving the management and practices of recertification for low and moderate income housing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The commission will consist of members from the state legislature, the state housing and economic development agency, local housing authorities, and housing experts. The commission will review existing policies and practices, document the impacts of recertification management, and propose strategies to reduce or eliminate recertification fraud. The commission will report its findings and recommendations to the state legislature by December 31, 2024.
