This bill amends the New York Insurance Law to require notification to insured individuals that an out-of-network physician may be used in their medical procedure, test, or surgery, and that the services of such out-of-network physician would not be covered by their insurance policy. If the insured person does not receive this notification prior to the health service or procedure, the costs of the out-of-network physician's services must be covered by the insurance policy.
