This bill aims to further define "miniature" beverage containers under the "bottle bill" in Massachusetts. The key provisions are: 1) expanding the definition of "beverage" to include alcoholic beverages sold in miniatures, in addition to soda, mineral water, and beer/malt beverages; and 2) adding a new definition for "miniature" to refer to any sealable bottle, can, jar, or carton with a capacity of 100 milliliters or less that is primarily made of glass, metal, or plastic and used to contain alcoholic beverages. This update to the existing bottle bill law is intended to promote the proper disposal of these smaller alcoholic beverage containers.
