This bill proposes to further define hate crimes by amending Section 32 of Chapter 22C of the existing law. Specifically, it seeks to add language that would include "an attack on a police officer which results in serious injury or death" as part of the definition of a hate crime, in addition to the existing criteria of acts motivated by "hatred, bias, or prejudice" and intended to "cause fear, intimidation, or violence."
