This bill amends the Political Reform Act of 1974 to: - Require a member of the Fair Political Practices Commission to resign if they declare a candidacy for elective office, and prohibit the chair of the Commission from running for elective office for one year after their term expires. - Authorize committees to redact bank account numbers on statements of organization filed with local filing officers, and require the Secretary of State to redact bank account numbers and street addresses on statements and reports before making them publicly available. - Clarify the required format and content of disclosures on print political advertisements. - Eliminate the $100,000 cap on the amount a candidate can loan to their own campaign. - Make other changes to reporting and recordkeeping requirements under the Act. The bill also includes legislative findings related to limitations on public access to certain information, and provisions regarding state-mandated local costs.
