This bill amends the administrative code of the city of New York, the Emergency Tenant Protection Act of 1974, and the Emergency Housing Rent Control Law to limit the amount of time a landlord or property owner has to submit supporting documentation for major capital improvements to 120 days after the completion of the new installation or improvement. The bill also makes changes to the criteria for approving rent increases due to major capital improvements, including amortization periods and limits on the amount of the increase that can be collected each year.
