This bill amends existing law to revise provisions regarding voter identification and proof of residence. Specifically, it modifies requirements for voter registration, including the information and documentation that must be provided to register to vote. The bill also allows individuals to register to vote at early voting stations or absent electors' polling places, in addition to the county clerk's office. Additionally, the bill repeals a section related to removal from the statewide voter registration database and makes changes to the information included on driver's licenses and identification cards, including requiring that the cards indicate the holder's status as a veteran or indicate "USA" for citizens, where possible.
