This bill amends existing law to provide an exemption from certain use requirements for liquor licenses issued to theaters or movie theaters built before 1950 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The bill requires such licenses to be used at least twice per year, instead of the standard six consecutive months required for other new licenses. The bill also provides an exemption from the use requirements until 2026 for liquor licenses issued to cities with a population of 7,000 or fewer, unless such lack of use would result in one or fewer licenses being in use in the city.
