AI Summary

This bill amends the Georgia Code to provide that the minimum salaries of special education teachers who meet certain criteria shall be 110 percent of the minimum salary they would otherwise qualify for. To qualify, the teachers must be certified in a special education teaching field and have more than 50 percent of their duties involve teaching students with disabilities and implementing Individualized Education Programs. The bill also revises provisions for local salary supplements, requiring local units of administration to increase the local salary supplement for qualified special education teachers to 110 percent of the local supplement for which they would otherwise qualify.
