This bill makes the Department of Corrections subject to the Nevada Administrative Procedure Act, which establishes procedural requirements for the adoption of regulations and adjudication of contested cases by certain state agencies. The bill also removes the existing exemption for the Department of Corrections from the requirements of the Act, and requires the Department to adopt its regulations in accordance with the Act. The bill provides that the Department's current regulations, except for those adopted under specific statutes, remain in effect until replaced with new regulations adopted under the Act.
