This bill, the National Senior Investor Initiative Act of 2023 or the Senior Security Act of 2023, amends the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to create a Senior Investor Taskforce within the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The Taskforce will identify challenges faced by senior investors, such as financial exploitation and cognitive decline, and recommend regulatory changes to address these issues. The bill also requires a Government Accountability Office (GAO) study on the economic costs and frequency of the financial exploitation of senior citizens, as well as policy responses and reporting of such exploitation.
