This bill exempts the sale of zero-emission school buses, as defined in the Education Law, and the parts or equipment used to operate such buses, from the state sales and use taxes. The exemption takes effect on the first day of the next quarterly sales tax period, at least 30 days after the bill becomes law, and the relevant state agencies are authorized to make any necessary rules and regulations to implement the exemption by the effective date.
