This bill establishes a Medicaid medical respite care program for homeless individuals in Montana. The program will reimburse eligible providers for short-term housing with supportive medical services for homeless individuals who are too ill or frail to recover from a physical illness or injury but do not require hospital care. The services include treatment plan development, medication management, immunizations, communicable disease screening, discharge planning, care coordination, and assistance with accessing social services. The Department of Public Health and Human Services is directed to apply for a Medicaid waiver or state plan amendment to implement the program and is required to report annually on the program's utilization and impact on healthcare costs.
