This bill requires the Commissioner of Education to establish a matching grant program for certain school districts, charter schools, and renaissance school projects that use a portion of their eligible federal funds from the American Rescue Plan Act to increase student instructional time and accelerate learning through high-quality, evidence-based interventions and programs. Eligible districts or schools must have seen an increase in the percentage of students not meeting or partially meeting expectations on state assessments compared to the 2018-2019 school year. The grants can be used for a variety of programs, such as before-school, after-school, and summer learning opportunities, tutoring, and increasing access to postsecondary opportunities. The total amount of funds available for the grant program is capped at $200 million and will be funded from the state's American Rescue Plan Act allocation.
