This bill allows applicants for professional licenses from boards of registration under the oversight of the Division of Occupational Licensure or the Department of Public Health to provide their individual taxpayer identification number or another document verifying their identity, instead of a social security number, when applying for a license. This change provides more flexibility for applicants who may not have a social security number, such as non-citizens, to obtain professional licenses in Massachusetts.
