This bill amends the definitions of "Athletic Trainer" and "Athletic Training" in the Massachusetts General Laws. The new definitions clarify that an Athletic Trainer is a licensed professional who applies principles, methods, and procedures for evaluating and treating injuries and other medical conditions using preventative, emergency, and rehabilitative care, including devices, splints, bracing, and physical modalities. The bill also requires the Board of Allied Health Professions to review and update the rules and regulations related to this act within 180 days of its passage.
