- Changes the deadlines for applying for absentee and mail-in ballots, allowing applications to be received up to the eleventh day prior to the election.
- Allows for in-person requests for absentee and mail-in ballots up to the day before the election.
- Provides for the notification and affirmation process for absentee and mail-in ballots with unsigned declarations.
- Modifies the pre-canvassing and canvassing procedures, including the timing, notice requirements, and observer access.
- Allows the use of automated sorting or extracting machines to assist in processing absentee and mail-in ballots.
- Removes the requirement that counties begin pre-canvassing at 7 a.m. on election day.
The bill aims to update various aspects of the election code related to absentee and mail-in voting procedures and funding for elections in Pennsylvania.
