This bill establishes the CareerBound program to empower local workforce development boards, schools, and businesses to collaboratively develop and implement innovative school-to-work programs. The bill provides for a tax credit to encourage private investment in these school-to-work programs, which must focus on exposing students to high-priority occupations and developing their soft skills. The Department of Labor and Industry will administer the CareerBound program, in consultation with other state agencies, and provide informational resources to help program partners conduct successful school-to-work programs. The bill also requires annual reports on the implementation and outcomes of the school-to-work programs.
